Why Meta Ads?
Meta Ads are one of the top 2-3 ways to grow a local service business because they give you a direct funnel. You spend money, generate leads, turn those leads into customers, and can track the whole process.
What really makes Meta stand out is scalability. Unlike other acquisition channels, you aren’t limited by search volumes or the size of your network or your time.
Once a Meta ads funnel is profitable, you can reinvest that profit back into more ad spend. That creates a measurable, repeatable, compounding path to growth.
Will Meta Ads work for my business?
Meta ads are either the best or the second best way to scale almost any local service business (Google is a better starting point in some cases).
But there is no way to guarantee we hit a home run on our very first swing, which is what a lot of business owners have expected in my experience.
I start with a strong core system that is 90% the same for all service businesses, and fill out the remaining 10% with research about exactly what is working for other businesses in your industry right now around the country. I then optimize and improve from there.
Therefore there is a good chance that it works right out the box, but there’s also a good chance we will need to dial in a few variables until the funnel really starts flowing.
So the answer is yes in the abstract, but the more important question is if this is the right time for your business to start building that funnel with where you are financially and operationally.

How quickly can we get started?
Usually pretty fast. Once we complete an onboarding call to connect to your Meta ads account (or help you make one if needed), we can typically get your ads live within about a week.
Are you Iowa local?
Yes I’m from Iowa and growing up I was the 4-time Iowa high school chess champion.
I currently live in the Des Moines metro and am able to travel throughout central Iowa (including to Iowa City and Cedar Rapids) for content shoots.
A bit of Iowa sports talk: while you may see me wearing my grandpa’s vintage Hawkeyes hat in some videos, I actually went to Iowa State and like to root for both teams.
My favorite Iowa sports moment though would have to be the Hawkeye Women’s run to the national title game a couple years ago.
What makes you different from other marketing agencies?
First off, almost all marketing agencies in Iowa just “get your name out there” or “build your brand”.
This type of marketing is “top of funnel awareness”, not lead generation, and it doesn’t typically produce revenue. You don’t get paying customers in any trackable or scalable fashion.
When it comes to other lead gen marketing agencies, unfortunately most are pretty cookie cutter. They typically learn to do a few things right and then start selling that service to others.
I don’t settle for that. I do the little things right, test, optimize, and scale what works. (A bit surprisingly, I’ve found that a big part of getting this process to work is doing good initial research.)
I also invest heavily in ongoing education and networking to know exactly what is working for local service businesses on Meta right now and find answers when I get stuck or am not sure.
In short, the goal of running ads is to help your business grow. And because of growth compounds, the improvements that come from doing quality work don’t add up - they compound too.

I then stay in touch about lead quality, track conversions, and address any issues that arise.
I also help to advise and optimize your sales process if and when needed. I’m personally not a good salesman since I’m too much of an awkward nerd, but I am pretty good at improving sales processes for others as well as at researching what is working for other companies in your industry.
How does your pay-for-results pricing work?
I think marketing agencies should get paid more like salespeople than employees: our pay should largely come out of the growth we help produce.
So instead of taking a big monthly fee whether you grow or not, a large part of what we make is tied to the results we produce for you (similar to commission for sales people).
